From a young age I knew my career path would lead me to work with children and families. From camp to college it was. My career assessing children and counselling families reminds me daily, of how resilient and self-aware children are. Whether the news is positive or hard for caregivers to hear, every child has their unique strengths to bring to the world. I strive to bring those attributes to light while sensitively sharing challenges in order to create goals that best meet the needs of kids and families alike. I bring a high degree of professionalism, perceptiveness, and a sense of humor to my work.
I have worked within school psychology and have provided counselling to children and families for 27 years, combined. I hold a Masters of Education- Counselling Psychology. I am also a practicing Psychologist and a member of the College of Psychologists on Ontario.
I have a strong background in psychological testing and counselling. I am knowledgeable in a range of assessments including; Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Gifted, as well as social-emotional concerns. I have worked with sensitive populations including children in foster care, in treatment programs, youth in custody programs, as well as those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a parent and professional, I am aware of the challenges that Exceptional Learners and their families may encounter at school, at home, and in the community.
